20best20 Supports The 7th Crow!
Have you checked out 20best20 yet? Well, I have and let me tell you something! They are an amazing group who are here to promote individual artists in a very classy and unique way! Let me tell you a little about them.
From 20besttwenty.com...
From 20besttwenty.com...
Our Story...
20 Best Twenty, stemmed from a problem, that we quickly turned into our solution. When out of the ordinary, non carbon copy t-shirts became hard to find, we thought, why not make them easy to find? Why not search, locally and internationally, for the best independent makers, sellers, designers, and boutiques across the world? Oh, and while we are at it, why not share their work with everyone else that appreciates the fine tuning of above average ideas? Well, that is exactly what we decided to do.
Mission
20 Best Twenty reveals the best designs, premier pieces, and unique products from independent makers across the globe. Every two months, 20 new items in 20 unique categories will be highlighted by ourselves and The Crew. They are bloggers, designers, and independent thinkers. They work with 20 Best Twenty to be the eyes and ears of the freshest finds, most brilliant boutiques, and amazing designs around. We are not an online store. We do not profit from a sale.
Our goal is simple - to feature the undiscovered items that are often lost in an age of chain retailers and commercial advertising. We celebrate inspired design, and unite original ideas with discerning consumers.
Vision
We believe each of the products featured makes the world a more beautiful and interesting place to live. Whether a fun pair of socks or a well designed chair, each item distinguishes itself by the thoughtfulness and care that only production on a small scale can accomplish. We encourage you to visit the independent sites of each of the products featured. There you will find many more items that stand out from the crowd. For yourself, or a gift, you will be shopping the best new products the web has to offer.
As soon as I was approached by 20best20, I was sold. I looked all over their website and knew we were a good fit! So guess what!
THE 7TH CROW IS BEING FEATURED ON 20 Best 20 JEWELS!
Stop by, check out The 7th Crow, but also please check out the whole website! I'm telling you! It's amazing! It's a great forum for promotion of people like me. I am someone who wants to be the best I can be - on my terms! I work hard. I work long. I work personal. And the folks at 20best20 see that and respect it!
So, thank you to everyone at 20best20! I am overjoyed to start 2012 with you!

Giving is better than receiving
This Christmas season, I received a couple of custom orders for gifts from new clients. It's always nerve racking for me to take on custom orders even though I LOVE them. I love to work through a piece of jewelry that will truly be one of a kind - a piece that someone thought about specifically for a loved one and just needed a little help from me to get from point A to point B. It's an amazing feeling when it works out how you both hope it will.
Yesterday, on Christmas Day, I was lucky enough to be rewarded with a photograph of a beautiful, young girl. A girl who loves natural stones and all creations of the earth, such as trees and the moon and her native country of India. After talking with her Aunt, we came up with a fantastic idea for a Tree of Life pendant that would be made specifically for this amazing girl. I researched the trees of India and found a perfect fit. I created a tree just for her that was based off of the Cannonball Tree found in India. Even though I was very happy with the tree, I still worried, as I always do, that she wouldn't like it, or it would be the wrong size. Just normal jitters, I suppose. Yesterday, I received a picture of a beautiful, smiling girl, wearing the necklace I made just for her. She had an amazing glow on her face that brought joy to my heart and a tear to my eye.
Later yesterday evening, after all the festivities had settled down at my house here in Dallas, my dear friend, Laura, sent me a note thanking me so much for the jewelry she had received as a Christmas gift from her mother. She was overjoyed and clearly expressed her love and gratitude for the gift. Now, Laura and I have been friends for several years, but I've never met her mother, nor knew her name. It took a while, thinking about it to realize which order must have been for Laura, but I figured it out. :) A lot of online sellers get frustrated when they have to do more than take someone's money, make a product and ship it. But I took time to help this mother through Etsy and how it works. Even with PayPal having issues and hurdles being thrown our way, we figured it all out and the jewelry made it to its destination in time! And not only did it make it in time for a Christmas gift for my client's daughter, it made it in time for my dear friend to open at Christmas with her mommy. Priceless!
Anyway, I know I've been going on for a while here, but I wanted to put some joy into the world today. While it wasn't my personal best Christmas ever, I had a part in at least two good ones and that makes up for a lot.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, etc.....
XOXOXOXOXO,
Jamie

Jewelry Pricing
Good morning everyone! Hope you all are well and enjoying your day so far.
I've been thinking about one of the most difficult parts of running your own creative business. At least it is very difficult for me. That topic is pricing. I keep going over and over all the different ways suggested to price my items when it hit me! I should ask you guys!
So, let me give you a little run down on my thinking when it comes to my jewelry overall. I have always bought fun and trendy jewelry at different random places. After a while, though, I got so tired of having to constantly repair them after a loop was pulled open on a night out or a piece fell off. The less than par construction was driving me crazy and led me to further examine my "problem" pieces to see how I could make them better. This was when I found the confidence that was deep within me. I thought, "I could make this necklace. And I could do it better than "so-and-so" did". And so this journey began...
Now, while doing this, I still did not have a huge account for expensive jewelry, especially the more trendy types of things. I mean, after all, if I spend all my money on myself, who would spoil my kids? What I ultimately decided was that I wanted to reach an audience of people like me. Not necessarily stay at home moms. Not necessarily moms. I wanted to reach anyone who felt like I did. I was tired of wasting money on something I could not trust would survive a night at the bar or even a day at the mall playing with the kids.
So, with all that said, here are a few questions I'd love to discuss with you all:
What price range would you be willing to spend for a piece of jewelry that you can trust? That isn't sterling silver or real gold? Jewelry that is fun, glamorous, trendy, etc. but that you know will last through tugs and tangles. What is your favorite type of jewelry to wear? Earrings? Necklaces? Big? Dainty? Bracelets? What was the last jewelry item you bought? What trend do you love right now?
Please, post a comment and let's discuss! Hope everyone has a great day!
(Note: This is no guarantee that my jewelry is bulletproof. Not life long guarantee here. There are none of those in life, really, are there?)
